Hello everyone! This week we were assigned to create a podcast for our Educational Technologies class. I and my friend Eray were pair for this assignment. Among 4 types of podcast, which included creating a vox-pop, 60 seconds idea to improve the world, creating a chant and creating a sound rich story, we chose vox-pop.
First of all, what is vox-pop? The name “vox-pop” comes from “Vox Populi”, which is Latin, and means “Voice of the People”. A vox-pop is done by surveying people with a central question. In addition, there should be at least 10 distinct participants in the vox-pop and they can be random people or the friends of the surveyor.
So, in our vox-pop we asked our ten friends a question which was “If you had a time machine and you could go to any year you want which year would you go to and why?” The answers were really creative, different and reflected participants’ personalities. According to answers, 7 out of 10 members wants to go to the past to see people they love or wonder and to live the nice moments again. The ones who wants to go to the future wonder the advancement of the technology and one said she wants to graduate as fast as possible. If you ask me, I would want to go to first year of world because I wonder how primitive men were and how they were living.
Finally, my overall impression about the assignment is good because I wondered how people would answer this open-ended question so it was fun. To listen to our vox-pop please click here.
